Los sufijos en inglés no son tan difíciles una vez que te has familiarizado con ellos. Al igual que los prefijos (no te olvides de ellos, pobrecitos, aquí tienes la clase de prefijos), los sufijos, te permiten expresarte en inglés con mayor soltura. 

Además, si te estas preparando para un examen oficial, como el B2 First o el C1 Advanced, aprenderlos es una forma de aumentar tu puntuación muy fácilmente. ¡No hay examinador que se resista! Trust me!

Sufijos para formar sustantivos

-hood

Normalmente se añade el sufijo -hood a un sustantivo concreto para crear otro sustantivo abstracto. Muchas veces (pero no siempre) se traduce como -dad en español.

• adult – adulthood (adulto – edad adulta)
• brother – brotherhood (hermano – hermandad)
• child – childhood (niño – infancia)
• false – falsehood (falso – falsedad) 
• father – fatherhood (padre – paternidad)
• likely – likelihood (probable – probabilidad)

• neighbour – neighbourhood (vecino – vecindario)
